For this engagement, they needed a full lightning protection system designed for one of their customers, a large high school campus in Florida, a facility that functions less like a single building and more like a small town, with classrooms, science and computer labs, a library, sports facilities, cafeterias, an auditorium, playgrounds, and its own parking and bus infrastructure, all serving thousands of students every day.

The Challenge

The project centered on a large high school campus in Florida, a sprawling environment that, in many ways, functions like a self-contained community. Its footprint includes classrooms, science and computer labs, a library, athletic facilities such as football fields, basketball and tennis courts, swimming pools and gyms, cafeterias, an auditorium for school events and performances, playgrounds and outdoor recreation areas, and the parking and bus infrastructure that keeps thousands of students moving every day.

That scale and diversity of use is precisely what makes lightning protection design for a campus like this so demanding.
